At a recent doctor’s appointment, I was counseled that I needed to stop eating sugar. For someone whose favorite food is chocolate, that was not what I wanted to hear. The more I thought about everything I could not eat, the more I wanted it! And the more I wanted it, the less I could fight the urge to eat it.
It had become my “elephant in the room”. And then it hit me—how do conquer something that feels like an unimaginable obstacle? One step, one movement, one breath at a time. I realized, “wow! I can actually do this”.
The key, for me, was taking those small steps. When we are faced with a challenge to overcome, we can break it down into easy obstacles. And one step at a time, we can all get to where we want to be.
